07 Gluing All Interior Components and cutting out the centrecase slot

This instructional video shows the gluing of the refitted components for the interior of the Oz Goose Sailboat.

Gluing the Mast Step, Mast Partner and centreboard case into the Oz Goose Hull in the Philippines

Note that the biggest difference between normal home boatbuilding and this method for the three day Family Boatbuilding weekends (FBW) is that the three day assembly uses the boat nails but most home build projects will use the temporary screws instead of nails.

The load on the centrecase, the step and partner is very high so we make sure there is enough glue thickness before screwing the components in place

Gluing the seat Top into the boat hull

It can be a good idea to put packaging tape on the tank face to reduce the mess and the side tanks can be pulled slightly back to allow the seat with glue to drop into place. Then we use two screws each side to hold the seat top in position.

THESE SCREWS MUST BE REMOVED THE NEXT DAY. DON’T FORGET THEM!
